MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace is to open his second eaterie in London at the Bermondsey Square Hotel.
The former greengrocer's new venture - Gregg's Table - is described as a "thinking person's greasy spoon".
It follows Wallace's first eaterie, Wallace & Co, which opened in Putney in January 2010.
According to Caterer Search, Gregg's Table, which launches next month, is a throwback to 1970s cuisine – with a modern twist.
The 90-seat restaurant, with seating for a further 120 outside, will offer refined versions of dishes such as spam fritters, boiled beef and carrots, lobster thermidor, T-bone steak and Angel Delight.
Robert Holland, Bermondsey Square Hotel's general manager, told Caterer Search that getting Wallace on board would help complement the area – the MasterChef judge was born in Peckham.
"Gregg is a boy of the 'hood and exudes everything that is British within the surrounding area," he said.
Bermondsey Square is branded as the area's first boutique hotel.
