Whitbread is offering restaurant and kitchen managers the chance to undergo specialist training ahead of a summer of important national events.
The operator, which owns Premier Inn and Beefeater, is putting more than £1 million into the formation of three skills academies throughout the UK.
Those attending the British Institute of Innkeeping accredited courses in Hockley Heath, Manchester and Swindon, will be helped to prepare for the challenges represented by the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the Olympic Games.
Whitbread has emphasised that training is especially important in the hospitality sector as those recruited into it often do not have formal qualifications.
Included in the training at the academies will be customer service, food presentation and information on a wide range of edible products.
Whitbread has in excess of 40,000 people in its employ who serve around 11 million UK customers each month across a variety of different brands, from Costa Coffee to Brewers Fayre.
