Venue caterer launches Very Hungry Caterpillar children's food

The Very Hungry Caterpillar brand is to be used by venue caterers Ampersand for a new range of healthy food to be produced for children.

All three Historic Royal Palaces will feature the food, which will be presented in branded boxes and include seasonal fruit as well as healthy sandwiches, reports Caterer Search.

Amanda Ursell, a consultant nutritionist for Ampersand, told the news provider: "The selection of choices has been carefully thought through to both appeal to children's likes and parents desire for their offspring to eat food that is good for them."

Ampersand has gained exclusive rights to use the brand for its lunch boxes, which will be available at the venues from March 3rd.

It is thought that the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme will be popular with children as it has sold 30 million copies since the book was published in 1969.

Ampersand provide catering for a large number of venues including the Palace of Holyroodhouse and ZSL London Zoo.
