All Radisson hotels with the Edwardian branding are to be renamed Radisson Blu by the end of the year, it has been announced.
Radisson Edwardian was used to represent the fact that the hotels are an amalgamation of the Radisson hotel chain and Edwardian Group Limited.
It has led to confusion among customers as to what distinguishes the hotels from others in the Radisson family.
Hubert Joly, president and chief executive of Carlson and co-chair of Carlson Rezidor, said: "With this strategic move, we will now have 13 additional Radisson Blu hotels in the London market, one of the world's most important markets. We are grateful to the Edwardian Hotels Group for their long standing partnership and look forward to continuing to build our relationship."
One of the most famous of the hotels to change its name will be the Radisson Edwardian Hampshire in Leicester Square.
The Rezidor Hotel Group owns 230 hotels across the world and has 51 are currently under construction.
